Energy efficiency is a major business concern, and we can help you identify financial incentives available to businesses and residents who make an active effort to live and work in a more energy efficient fashion.

Energy efficiency is the smart way to save energy, save money and help the environment. When you light, cool and heat with energy efficient equipment and use Energy Star appliances, you help keep costs down, produce less air pollutants, preserve natural resources and promote the use of domestic energy sources.

Con Edison, the major utility serving Westchester County, offers an energy reduction program, known as the Business Incentive Rate (BIR) designed for projects of major economic impact and/or significant job retention. The BIR is offered in partnership with the County of Westchester Public Utility Service Agency ("COWPUSA")

Your Westchester-based small business could qualify for a free energy survey and get big incentives for major heating, cooling and lighting upgrades. You business can also get rebates for helping reduce your energy consumption during peak days. Click here for more information about the incentives available for larger commercial and industrial organizations, such as the electric rebate program, gas rebate program, and custom program, or you can complete and mail the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program Project Application to find out of your company is eligible for any of these incentives.

NYSERDA
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a public benefit corporation created in 1975 whose earliest efforts focused solely on research and development with the goal of reducing the State’s petroleum consumption. Today, NYSERDA’s aim is to help New York meet its energy goals: reducing energy consumption, promoting the use of renewable energy sources, and protecting the environment. On NYSERDA’s website you can find a lot of information about what they have to offer Westchester businesses in terms of funding opportunities, events, job opportunities, and much more.
